Dear Licensed Resource Providers:
The Jackson County Children's Division is scheduled to have its Council on Accreditation (COA) site visit in April 2008. In preparation for that visit, the Jackson County Children's Division Emergency Situation Safety Plan has been developed. According to COA standards, all licensed resource providers must receive training on the elements of the plan that apply to you.
Attached is a brief power point presentation describing safety protocols that have been established in cases of emergencies that impact the foster children placed in your homes.
Please review the information in the enclosure, then sign and date the last page and return it to the CD staff member as requested. The power point can also be accessed through the Children's Division website (www.kcchildren.org) and the Midwest Foster Care and Adoption Association's website (www.mfcaa.org).
We are asking that you complete the training and return the completed form to Melanie Hummer in the Permanency Unit no later than 2/29/08. Thank you for your attention to this matter and for all you do each day in assuring the safety of the children in your care.
Sincerely,
Virginia Lewis-Brunk, MSW
